Privacy Policy

You can browse much of BizzySim without creating an account.

If you choose to claim a Biz, save businesses, build a shortlist, keep an owner streak, or otherwise save your activity, we may ask you to sign in.

We collect only the information we need to operate and improve BizzySim, understand how people use it, save your activity, and communicate with you when you ask us to.

We do not currently sell your personal information.

Information you give us

Depending on how you use BizzySim, you may provide information such as:

• your email address
• your name and profile information if you sign in with Google
• businesses you save or claim
• your fictional financing choices
• fictional purchases or upgrades you make for your Biz
• your owner streak and other saved activity
• feedback, requests, or messages you send us
• your email address if you join a waitlist, request a feature, or ask to hear from us

BizzySim does not ask you to provide actual financial account information in order to buy a fake business.

The money is imaginary.

Account and authentication information

BizzySim may offer sign-in through Google or by sending a one-time verification code to your email address.

If you sign in with Google, Google may provide us with information such as your name, email address, and profile image, depending on your Google account settings and the permissions you approve.

We use authentication providers to help securely identify you and keep your saved BizzySim activity connected to your account.

Information about how you use BizzySim

We may collect information about how visitors interact with the site, including things like:

• pages viewed
• businesses viewed
• businesses saved
• acquisitions started or completed
• claimed businesses
• dashboard visits
• fictional purchases
• share-button interactions
• referral links used
• return visits
• feature usage
• approximate device, browser, and technical information
• general traffic and performance information

We use this information to understand what people enjoy, what is confusing, what is broken, and whether BizzySim is actually fun.

Referral information

Some BizzySim links may contain referral identifiers.

If someone shares a Biz and another person visits through that link, we may record that the visit came through the shared link. This helps us understand whether people are actually sharing BizzySim and how visitors discover the site.

Cookies and local storage

BizzySim and the services we use may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies to:

• keep you signed in
• remember preferences
• save certain activity
• understand site usage
• measure performance and referrals
• prevent abuse or security problems

Some activity may be stored locally in your browser before you create an account.

Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies and locally stored data, although doing so may affect certain BizzySim features.

We may use information we collect to:

• operate BizzySim
• create and maintain your account
• save your businesses and activity
• show you your Biz dashboard
• maintain things like saves, streaks, fictional purchases, and preferences
• send authentication codes
• send service-related or account-related messages
• notify you about activity relating to your Biz if you choose to receive those updates
• understand how people use BizzySim
• improve features and design
• measure sharing and referrals
• detect abuse, fraud, or technical problems
• respond to questions or feedback
• comply with legal obligations

Creating a BizzySim account does not automatically subscribe you to an unrelated newsletter.

We may send emails necessary to operate your account, including:

• login or verification codes
• security messages
• account-related notices
• requested BizzySim updates

If we offer marketing emails, newsletters, product announcements, or other optional communications, we may ask for separate permission.

You can unsubscribe from optional marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages.

Certain essential account or security emails cannot be turned off while you maintain an account.

BizzySim contains fictional businesses and simulated financial and operational information.

Your interaction with a Biz, such as claiming it, saving it, or making fictional purchases, may be stored as part of your account.

The underlying simulated performance of a Biz may be shared across the BizzySim world rather than generated specifically from your personal information.

Real-world signals may influence the simulation, but those signals are not used to determine anything about you personally.

We use third-party services to operate BizzySim.

These may include providers for things such as:

• website hosting
• databases
• authentication
• email delivery
• analytics
• security
• error monitoring

For example, BizzySim may use services such as Supabase for database and authentication infrastructure and Vercel for hosting and website infrastructure.

These providers may process limited information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.

Their handling of information is also subject to their own privacy policies.

We do not currently sell personal information for money.

We also do not currently use BizzySim account information for cross-site behavioral advertising.

If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide BizzySim
• maintain your account
• preserve your saved activity
• comply with legal requirements
• resolve disputes
• prevent abuse
• maintain legitimate business records

If you delete your account or ask us to delete your information, some information may remain temporarily in backups or may be retained when legally required.

Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained for analytics or research.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the ability to request that we:

• tell you what personal information we have about you
• correct inaccurate information
• delete certain personal information
• provide a copy of certain information
• stop certain types of processing
• honor other privacy rights provided by applicable law

BizzySim is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.

No website, database, or online service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or lost despite those safeguards.

BizzySim may occasionally contain links to third-party websites or services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of websites we do not control.

BizzySim is actively being built, which means some features may change.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, technology, or legal requirements evolve.

When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
